At Colorado Handgun Safety, our NRA Basic Rifle Course will teach you everything you need to know about being a responsible, confident rifle owner. Regardless if you have zero shooting experience or years of it, everyone will learn something in the NRA Basic Rifle Course at Colorado Handgun Safety! At Colorado Handgun Safety, our NRA-certified instructors provide a welcoming, non-judgmental environment and are here to help you improve your skills so you can shoot a rifle confidently.
At Colorado Handgun Safety, we create unique courses that allow you to practice shooting your firearm and gain the necessary hands-on experience. Students who enroll in the NRA Basic Rifle Course can expect to spend at least fourteen hours in the classroom learning fundamentals and at the shooting range practicing shooting a rifle. We will cover many topics in this course, including:
We recommend bringing your rifle so you can get comfortable with shooting it and learn the specifics of the rifle you’ll be using. However, if you don’t have a rifle, please let us know before class, and we’ll provide one.
If you’re bringing a rifle, please bring at least 100 rounds. If we provide a rifle for you, we will also provide you with ammunition.
Yes, you must be at least 18 years old.
One of our NRA-certified instructors will be leading the course.
Yes, you will receive a certificate that says you completed the course successfully.
Certificates of completion for NRA Basic Courses don’t have an expiration date.
