With decades of firearms experience, I’ve had the privilege of teaching over 65,000 students in Colorado to become licensed CCW holders. I’ve taught classes across the Front Range, and I’ve trained NRA-certified instructors how to teach others to become permit holders. To say this is my passion is an understatement.

What do I have to bring?

We recommend bringing something to take notes with, a water bottle, and a snack. Otherwise, our awesome team will provide everything you need during your course.

Do I have to bring my gun?

Nope. Our CCW classes are beginner-friendly. That means no gun is required, nor will we be shooting at a range.

Will there be live-fire range time?

You will not have to complete live training to take a CCW class at Colorado Handgun Safety. While we recommend ALL gun owners keep up with active training, our CCW classes are classroom-style.

Do I have to complete a class to get my permit?

Yes! One of the requirements for applying for a Colorado CCW permit is successfully completing a firearms safety class. For more information on requirements, visit your county’s website or sheriff’s office.

Is there an online class option?

Online classes do NOT count towards the training requirement necessary to receive your permit. Colorado law requires everyone to attend an in-person class before they are allowed to receive their permit.
